She Felt as if She Were the Divine Mother
One woman I know had her first experience when she was fourteen. She awakened realizing that she was the divine child. She saw lights and auras around people. She saw the history of the universe, and when she had to stand up in history class, she spoke of the way one civilization after another would rise and fall without end.
They took her to the principal's office, and then to a psychiatrist who said she needed to be hospitalized. There she experienced the orgasmic shaking kundalini experience that has since become known as a "classic" awakening experience.
For that she was drugged and placed in a ward for acutely psychotic people and given shock treatments. She felt as if she were the Divine Mother conceiving God, and she was given more shock treatments.
Thirty years later, after eight hospitalizations and a long string of drug treatments, she went to a program called Nine Gates Mystery School. At this modern day mystery school, during a sacred chant and movement to invoke the divine child, she went back into the same experience.
This time, however, the people knew what the experience signified. They sat in the sun, grounding her by putting their hands on her back and on her feet. It was a celebration. When she resumed her usual state of consciousness, they all went to dinner. She looked at the contrast between five months of being drugged in a horrible institution, and a few hours in the sun with three people who were welcoming... and not scared.
